Kerry Shawn Keys lives in Vilnius, but his roots are in the Appalachian Mountains.  He has dozens of books to his credit, including translations from Portuguese and Lithuanian.  His own poems are informed by rural America and Europe, as well as Brazil and India, where he lived for considerable time. His work ranges from theatre-dance pieces to flamenco song to meditations on the Tao Te Ching, and is often lyrical with intense ontological concerns.  His most recent books are Broken Circle (2005) and The Burning Mirror (2007). Selected poems have also appeared in Czech and Lithuanian.
