Martin Newell

Martin Newell is a writer, broadcaster and musician. After twenty years with rock bands, he became a pop poet in 1988. First published in The Guardian in 1984, he wrote regularly for The Independent for 15 years before taking up his current post as poet for The Sunday Express.  He has previously published a dozen collections of verse and one pop memoir: This Little Ziggy. Now known internationally as a pop poet and songwriter, with a stunning and often hilarious live act, he lives in Essex.
