Hamish Whyte was born near Glasgow, and moved to Edinburgh in 2004. His most recent publications include the poetry collection, A Bird in the Hand (Shoestring, 2008), and the anthology, Kin: Scottish Poems about Family (Polygon/SPL, 2009).  He runs Mariscat Press, publishing poetry by Edwin Morgan, Janice Galloway, Gael Turnbull, Stewart Conn, Diana Hendry and others. He also reviews crime fiction for Scotland on Sunday, and is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Scottish Literature, Glasgow University.
