Patience Agbabi was born in London in 1965 and educated at Oxford and Sussex Universities. Renowned for her dynamic delivery, she has a particular interest in the dynamic between traditional poetic forms and live performance. Her latest collection, Bloodshot Monochrome (Canongate, 2008), is a tribute to the sonnet. She has lectured in Creative Writing at several UK universities and is currently Fellow in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes University. She lives in Kent with her partner and two children.
