Simon Armitage lives in West Yorkshire.  His publications include Kid (1992), winner of one of the first Forward Prizes, The Universal Home Doctor (2002), shortlisted for the T. S Eliot Prize, Tyrannosaurus Rex Versus the Corduroy Kid (2006), and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (2007). His dramatisation of The Odyssey was broadcast on Radio 4 in 2004 and he has been a regular guest on The Mark Radcliffe Show (on Radios 1 and 2) for over a decade. In 2003, he received an Ivor Novello Award for his song-lyrics in the Channel 4 film, Feltham SingsGig: The Life and Times of a Rock-Star Fantasist was published by Faber & Faber in 2008.
