Cahal Dallat

Cahal Dallat: Perhaps best known as a poet (his second collection, The Year of Not Dancing, was published by Blackstaff in 2009), critic (for the TLS, Guardian, Magill, etc), and broadcaster (he is a regular contributor to Radio 4’s Saturday Review, Radio 3’s Nightwaves,and BBC NI’s Arts Extra), C. L. Dallat has played traditional Irish music since his Antrim Glens childhood and, since moving to London in the early ’seventies, has played jazz piano, and classical/musette/klezmer/tango and traditional Irish music on mandolin, accordion and bandoneon, as well as lecturing on music – classical and traditional – in Irish literature and literary history.
