Christine De Luca lives in Edinburgh but was born and brought up in Shetland. She is a prize winning poet writing in both English and Shetlandic.  She has had four collections of poetry published, Voes & Sounds (1994), Wast Wi Da Valkyries (1997), Plain Song (2002) and Parallel Worlds (2005), and won the poetry Prix du Livre Insulaire 2007 for a bilingual Selected. She particularly enjoys translating the work of other poets into Shetlandic. Christine is a member of a cooperative, Hansel, which promotes art and literature in Orkney and Shetland and convener of Shore Poets, Edinburgh.
