Gerry Loose

Gerry Loose was born February 9th 1948, and has lived in England, Ireland, Spain, Morocco (briefly) and now Scotland. He describes himself as ‘a slow-moving nomad’, and his work has been in agriculture, horticulture and poetry. He also designs and makes gardens: his poetry is as likely to appear in these (and ungardened landscapes) as on the page. His publications include The Elementary Particles (1993), a measure (1996), Tongues of Stone (1998), Eitgal (2001), Seed Catalogue, with photographs by Morven Gregor (2006), Printed on Water: New & Selected Poems (Shearsman, 2007) and, as editor, 10 Seasons: explorations in Botanics (Luath/SPL, 2007).
