Devon born Mark O. Goodwin lived and worked in London doing a variety of jobs before moving to Skye in 1994. Latterly, he worked for the gallery An Tuireann as Literature Development Officer. He co-ordinated and took part in Skye's session of StAnza's virtual poetry festival Distant Voices in 2009. The Two Sides of the Pass/Dą Thaobh a Bhealaich (Two Ravens, 2009), co-authored with Maoilios Caimbeul and illustrated by Eņghann Mac Colla, is his first collection of poems. His poem Skye was selected for the Scottish Poetry Library's Best Scottish Poems 2009.
