Martin Bates

Martin Bates lives in East Lothian and has travelled widely. Teaching and writing English as a Foreign Language have taken him to Latin America and the Middle East. His publications include Rag and Bone Shop (Rivelin), Between Desert and Sea, Wounded Lion (Redbeck), and Exploding Cicadas. The latter, published by White Adder, was Runner-Up for the 2006 Callum Macdonald Memorial Award. He also edited an anthology of poetry connected with EFL, Poetry as a Foreign Language (White Adder).
